gpedit.msc die

Hello,
My computer crashed while I was working on gpedit.msc. When the computer
came back on,
"unknown error" is shown. Inside the program,
the icons have a red cross, only first item was shown. but it was still
crossed.

Hello Jack:

It would be helpful if we had a finer grain description of the "crash".

Also a description of your system would be additionally helpful.

Some likelihood exists that your hard disk drive (HDD) may have suffered
some corruption.

Have you attempted to use a known good System Restore point?

Are you familiar with the use of the chkdsk and the sfc commands?

Do you have full backups of your system before the crash?
