Hello.

I want to use the GoogleFinance function to get data of stocks on my spreadsheet.

If i copy spreadsheets of other users, i don't have any problem
but if i create a new spreadsheet and in a cell i type either =GoogleFinance("GOOG","price") or =GoogleFinance("GOOG") I always get #NAME? result.

Also if i type GoogleFinance on MY spreadhseet I don't get any autosuggestion about the formula, while if I type it on the already created one I also get the Autosuggestion.

Also I see that on the copied spreadsheet there is a disclaimer "Quotes may be delayed up to 20 minutes. Information is provided 'as is' and solely for informational purposes, not for trading purposes or advice.Disclaimer"

as if the datasheet is created JUST for stocks and not like an easy datasheet (As I am doing).

Can someone give me any help ?

Another issue that sometimes happen is that I am using the "italian version" so sometimes i have to write functions in Italian language...

What you mean with "It seems that the function only works with Google Finance web site:" ?

I did not find any good news from online technical docs.

I should go to Google finance and do something from there ?

I am doing this

1. I open my skydrive
2. Create new spreadsheet
3. In a cell I type =GoogleFinance("GOOG","price")
4. Doesn't work.

I know I am missing some key points, but I don't know which one and no online official doc epxlain it...

in Google Finance help group they removed my post :(

I tested that function in Google Drive and it works well to fetch stock
data from Google Finance.
That is the only thing you can do with this function.

But i see just #NAME?

this is NOT an Excel function. This is only a GOOGLE function and is
only known in Google Drive. Everywhere else you get the #NAME? error.
