Google problem

When I double click on a search result in Google the
link no longer opens, it only changes color (from
blue to red.)

Double clicking still works on all my programs and
even with other search engines (like Yahoo), so it's
not my mouse.

The only way I can open the link is to right click it
and choose "open in new window." Once I have
opened a web page all links therein open as normal
w/a double click.

Any help wld be much appreciated.
