Two days ago I suddenly couldnt access google. After getting on to my ISP
and them coming up with all sorts of wrong answers I did a search, and found
this site http://www.scottmanning.com/journal/000585.php

I seemed to have the same problem and when I did his fix, ie pinging google
and typing in the ip address, I managed to get google again. I also can
access google by typing www2.google.com

Now I see that on the web theres a problem with Qhosts. MY AVG says IM
clear, and I also downladed the Qhosts remover and it says Im not infected,
YET I still cannot get google by the normal means, and lately google.com and
google.ie is going to a cpanel site which say ......There is no website
configured at this address.

Anyoine have any idea how I can fix my google. I had to get rid of the
google toolbar as it wasnt working anymore, I can only access google through
the means I have described above

Both of you: try SpyBot Search & Destroy:

Check your lmhosts file.. It could have *google.com redirected to another
ip.

Ok I did the search and found 2 files with that name(lmhosts file). Problem
is both cannot be opened by windows.
One is located in C:\l386 and the other is in C:\WINDOWS SYSTEM32\DRI...
I have also loaded and run Spybot search and destroy as suggested still no
success.
Thank anyways for the help people.

Try Start (bottom left corner), Run: %windir%\System32\notepad.exe
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

This should open the hosts file in the notepad editor.
Then search for google.
If you find any line with Google in it, delete it completely.
Then save the file and close Notepad.
Reboot.
