Hi
I am looking for good quality core 2 duo motherboard for my new
computer. Because Nvidia has better graphics product atm(ATI has some
driver issues again), I am thinking of buying Nvidia SLI board.

Now I need good suggestions for good motherboard. I have been thinkin
about the following boards but they are rather expensive. Are they
worth the money?

ASUS Striker Extreme - nForce 680i
MSI P6N Diamond - nForce 680i

Any DDR3 motherboards out yet with SLI suport? Any other suggestions
or comments on above boards? Good crossfire boards are always welcome
too since I believe that R650 is a much better product than 2900XT.

What driver issues? I have an X1950XT in my main PC and an X850Pro in my 2nd
PC and never have any issue with ATI drivers.

Nvidia isn't much better with drivers. When I bought my system, I went
with a GeForce 8000GTS, and the drivers were less than adequate
(particularly with Vista and Linux), though they are getting better.

Seeing that ATI has a new product out means their drivers might be as
bad as Nvidia's were when the 8800 cam out. Deal with it, as both
Nvidia and ATI are bad with drivers, but they do eventually get their
acts together.

For some people they are, but most people do not need this. Are you
going to buy two 8800's ? If so, then a true dual 16x board may be
worth the price. These boards are also loaded with other features, but
you can get most of this in cheaper boards, and some of it will
probably never be used.
For example, few people overclock to extremes, which these boards seem
to be geared for. If you are not going to go SLI and overclock, then a
cheaper board would probably be a better option for you.

To get the most out of either of these boards, you will need to spend
a bundle on very fast ram, two (or more for the MSI ?) high end video
cards, two gig-E networks, and a very expensive monitor. Oh, and you
might as well get a few fast drives to utilize the RAID features as
well. Don't even dare to skimp on the power supply or the cooling,
either.

I am using the Intel BOXD975XBX2 with a single Nvidia 7950GT.

Good over clocking good stability and it has two PCIE16 slots and claims to
be fine for SLI or Crossfire.
