Going back to 03

I have had a great deal of difficulty since I upgraded to Outlook 07 (did an
entire Office upgrade). Outlook is running EXTREMELY slow. It takes 3-4
minutes to open an e-mail and Outlook 07 often crashes. I ran the patch file
for larger .pst files, but saw no improvement. I'd like to revert back to
Outlook 03. What steps do I need to take to get this done?

There is no patch file for larger pst's
You've run an office repair?
You've run scanpst.exe on your data file (pst)?
You've run both winupdate & Office update?, assuming your not using MSUpdate
What size is your pst?
Within Outlook, if you highlight Personal Folders, rt click, select
properties, Under Advanced what is the Format given?

When OL crashes, if you then examine Event Viewer (Contral
Panel>Administration) what event is assosciated with the crash?
How much memory installed?

Yes there is....see
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...fd-1e09-49b6-9003-c4c47539df66&DisplayLang=en
You've run an office repair?
Yes. The report was one setup error fixed...but no difference in Outlook's
performance.
You've run scanpst.exe on your data file (pst)?
No. More information on this would help.
You've run both winupdate & Office update?, assuming your not using MSUpdate
Yes. No change.
What size is your pst?
815 MB...hardly a large file.
Within Outlook, if you highlight Personal Folders, rt click, select
properties, Under Advanced what is the Format given? 97-2002

When OL crashes, if you then examine Event Viewer (Contral
Panel>Administration) what event is assosciated with the crash?
There are a number of events...here's the latest cause....they all end the
same way...

"Unable to load personal free/busy data. The Calendar folder could not be
found. Another application closed unexpectedly while using your Personal
Folders file 'C:\Users\Pastor\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst'.
To prevent potential damage to your Personal Folders file, it will not be
available until you close all applications currently using it."
How much memory installed?
2GB, plus a dedicated memory card

FWIW, when I run Outlook in safe mode, it runs very quickly (in comparison).
I also had a client side spam blocker (SpamBayes) but I uninstalled it. No
change.

That patch is primarily calendar related
You are not using the OL2003 / OL2007 format unicode file, you are still
using the early ansi version, which is the one that has a size limitation

Search to include hidden for scanpst.exe, (it may be located under Program
Files\microsoft Office\Office12)then with OL closed run it on your pst file.
If it reports & fixes an error, run it again.

You might also want to create a new OL data File, in the default format &
once you have run scanpst, copy data from the old data File to the new, set
the new as the default mail store, then if neccessary close your old data
file.

BTW you dont have any anti virus intergrated with OL, if so uninstal it.

Having said all that you may still need to set up a new profile - not copy
