I have been trying to go down from Windows XP to Windows
2000 Professional, but Xp is not letting me degrade it.
The 2000 CD will not boot on restart, and the same message
comes up, telling me that I can view the CD information,
but I cannot install any of the software... Any way to
bypass that, so I can use my OS?

Yes, you will have to do a fresh install of 2000, as you cannot downgrade
from XP to 2000. If you cannot boot from your 2000 CD, and this is a
legitimate bootable copy, make sure that your BIOS settings are telling your
computer to check the CD ROM drive to boot from prior to looking for a boot
recrod from your hard drive.

Greetings --

There is no "rollback" to Win2K.

To replace WinXP with an earlier OS, you'll have to boot from the
appropriate boot disk, format the hard drive, and install. There is
no supported downgrade path or technique.

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
