Global power settings?

B

Bruce

Hello,

It appears that power settings in control panel only apply to the
currently logged in user. I changed the power scheme on a machine
which I have administrator rights on only to find that when another
user logs on it reverts to the previous setting unless she changes it
as well. Is there a way to set a 'global' power scheme that applies
to all users on a PC running XP Pro? How does the OS know what to do
with respect to power options when no one is logged in? Thanks.

Try this

Login as yourself
Switch Power schemes to Always On
Switch the rest to Never
Disable Hibernation
Save changers
Restart
Login again to confirm the settings
Login as a different user and check the settings
Then adjust to your preferred settings

Good Luck

Always keep antivirus and spy removal applications (links on the bottom of the page) up-to-date, and scan regularly.
