Glitch with advance loading to memory of mpeg video

I have a PowerPoint presentation (Office for XP) with an mpeg video clip
with a custom animation entrance. My problem is that the video does not
load into memory in advance unless I manually run the show slides
through to the slide immediately after the video slide. If I do this
and then go back to the video slide and click on it the video loads
immediately and plays properly. If I remove the custom animation the
video loads in advance as it should.

Now I know I have used custom animations with various video clips
including mpegs before and I have never experienced this problem. Does
anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Jerry,

It's your 'computer' that caches (loads into memory ready for a quick use) the video clip after you show it the first
time. It's not a feature (unfortunately) of powerpoint.
