Giving a BSOD when running FBA from PCMCIA CF card

Hi!,

Our evolution platform is a laptop-like PC.
We creat a XPe image and deploy on a PCMCIA CF card,
but a BSOD happens when running FBA from PCMCIA CF card.

BSOD detail:
STOP:0x0000007B(0xF7C8E640, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x000000000)

This BSOD does not happen if we remove CF card to IDE interface.
Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do next?

hi
i don't think u can boot from the PCMCIA device easily.
first, you should add PCMCIA to boot device group. then..., still BSOD,
i think.
anyway, the process to booting XPE from PCMCIA disk is just a little
alike booting from a USB disk.

Hi! KM and Nick,

Thanks for your help.

To: KM
Our platform can support PCMCIA legacy boot.
We've ever tried to install XP Prof. on a 5GB PCMCIA CF card and boot XP
Prof. from
PCMCIA CF card successfully.

Frankly speaking, I do not have any experience to boot XPe from a USB disk.
Where can I get related information about this way?

In this NG you can find some pieces of information related to USB disk boot. Use google groups to search this NG.
Also you can get complete XPe boot solution from M-Systems for their uDOC devices.
