Hi,

I'm trying to create a CF card with NTFS booting my XPe platform. When I
power up my board, I get the error that NTLDR is missing.

Does anyone know how to create a bootable NTFS compact flash card or if it's
even possible ?

Hi,
yes this is possible.
I used a CF to IDE Adapter to connect the CF Card to a PC.

- boot up the PC with PQ Magic or Acronis Disk Director Suite to partion and
format the CF Card. Format the partion(s) with NTFS.
- boot up the PC with Windows XP / 2000 or a WinPE CD and copy all XPe image
data to the CF Card.
- now you can boot from the flash card

I recomend that you use RAM REG EWF to protect the CF Card. For RAM REG EWF
you can work with a CF Card that is detected as removeable media. You don't
need to make it unremoveable.

Jens,

Besides trying to format the card *on the target device* booted under XP Pro or WinPE,
your best bet would be using CF card manufacturer provided utilities to partition and format the card.
