ghost pages

I use NextPage section breaks all the time. Here lately i've been having a
problem with "ghost pages" showing up in Print Preview and sometimes even
printing in the middle of the document. When I view in Print Preview and put
my cursor over the "ghost page" the arrow turns into a circle with a slash
through it, and I am not able to zoom in, etc.

I use section breaks for header/footer purposes. Different Odd/Even and
Different First Page. My pages should go as follows:

[first page, page 2, page 3, section break for blank page, section break for
new first page.]

In this particular document, it is skipping two even pages, therefore giving
me two "ghost pages" between the section breaks. I've looked and they are
both Next Page and in page setup it is set to start section on next page.

How do I avoid this problem in the future and how do I get rid of the
problem now?

Rather than "Section break for blank page, section break for new first
page," use Section Break Odd Page.

I only get the crossed circle cursor when I try to drag something when
a window is open (such as Cross References). Maybe something like that
is interfering with Zoom?

I cannot use the Odd section break for printing purposes. I'm working with a
supplement to a book. So i have a large amount of pages that do not have
continuous headers/footers and sometimes i need the even page to be blank
with no headers/footers. If i want to print just one section, and I use the
Odd section break, it will not print the pages on the correct side of the
page. By using two next page section breaks i can have a blank back page with
no headers and footers and a new first page with different headers/footers
than previous section. Again, the "ghost page" only happens occasionally and
in this instance only happened ONCE out of 300 pages and 36 sections. Does
this make sense to anyone???
