MSWord 2003

I am working with several ongoing individuals letters that are based upon a
letter template set up by someone other than myself. When I run a spell
check on any of the resulting letters (based upon the template) the spell
check questions a spelling that exists in a header that I am unable to locate
within the resulting document(s). The heading doesn't print and doesn't
actually show up in any of the "view" formats. I remain unable to locate
this "ghost header" in order to delete the text or make any other
modifications to its appearance.

I subsequently went to the original template and the same header exists
within the template, where I continue to be unable to actually locate it.

Although it doesn't appear to have an effect on any of the resulting
letters; I remain curious as to what this situation may be all about or what
may be the cause of it.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.

Rod

A letter template is usually (properly) set up with a First Page
Header/Footer and a Header/Footer for subsequent pages. If the letter has
only one page, you won't see the Header/Footer. You can insert a page break
temporarily in order to display these and correct them. This would most
productively be done in the template.

Suzanne:

As always, thanks so very much for your help. Your response indeed was the
solution to my situation.

It is such a terrific thing to have this forum to which we can post
miscellaneous questions concerning the sometimes "odd" aspects of Word and
receive an answer/solution in return.

Thanks again - Rod

Glad I could help.
