ghost 2003 remove disc marking

I'm curious - does anybody know how and where NG2003 marks the disc? And is
there a way to remove this mark without losing the data on the drive?

Ghost puts some data in the last sector of the first track, 62 in my case.
you can safely delete it but why would you want to? only makes ghost ask you
again later...
