Getting Word to keep changes in autocorrect and print mode

I have to reset the autocorrect every time I open word. I want to keep it
from trying to automatically bullet and format lists. I'd like to keep it
from automatically capitalizing the first word of a sentence. Whenever I
make that change, it automatically switches everything back when I close
word. Is there a way to make these changes stick?

I have the same problem in the print command. I want to always print in
reverse print order. But I have to reset this every time.
I'm using word 2003 with windoze xp sp2.

Any suggestions?
Thanks--

Mike

If your settings are not being saved, you may need to rebuild the Word Data
key in the Registry as described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm, but first read
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/DataKeySettings.htm

If this doesn't help, it could be that an add-in is trashing your settings
on startup.
