Getting Win2k to recognize serial mouse

I am using a toshiba laptop with one of those irritating
devices that have that little knob nestled between the G
and H keys. I would like to use my touch pad mouse via
the serial port, but Windows does not see any device nor
will it let me select one. I need a simple 2 button mouse
driver to run it. Can anyone "point" me in the right
direction?

Thanks

Is the serial port enabled in your system bios? Windows
should autodetect the mouse and install a driver for it.
