Getting To VBA Code

Have a Front End Back End Database in Access 2003. Saved it as Access 2000 to
give to friend who has Access 2000 only. Copied files to Mem Stick checked
could run from Mem Stick - No problems. Transferred Files to his Machine
(part of a LAN - my Machine Stand Alone). Tested system ran on single machine
- no problem. Transferred back end to \\ path, relinked tables - ok so far.
Needed to amend some of my VBA code opened front end tried to get to module
with backend path name in it got "Project unavailable". Tried copying forms
and code to new Front end - "Project Password Protected"??? error messages
received. Is there any specific reason for this or more specifically a way
round the problem, as only want to change 1 line of code on his copy at this
moment in time do not want to build programmatic way around problem - besides
he may want some more changes to Front End, and I do not want two disperate
versions on my machine. All are .mdb files but using ADO for VBA access to db.

Hopefully not an MS design enhancement.
