I had some sort of a virus, so I changed the default
operating system to Recovery Console, planning to run
recovery. Now I've changed my mind and don't want to run
recovery anymore, but I'm at a loss as to how to get back
to default my OS to Windows without recovering anything.
I know nothing about dos, so help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

Press the F8 key as Windows is about to start, you will get a menu of
choices to boot from
Select XP instead of Recovery Console

When you have logged on;
Open Control Panel and select System
On the Advanced tab select Settings in the box labelled Startup and Recovery
Change the default operating system back to XP.
