Getting rid of IE7 advertisment when opening IE6

How do I get rid of Microsoft's notice about IE7 which appears every time I
open IE6?

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Automatically check for
IE updates (uncheck)

Is that option still unchecked after rebooting?

By any chance do you have a beta build of IE7 installed?

Hi PA,

I have the same symptoms, running Windows 2000 SP4, and IE6 SP1. Option
still unchecked. No Beta of IE7. IE7 won't install, says operating system
not supported. I have two other Win2k machines which exhibit the same
symptom, less frequently. Annoying, but no emergency. Thanks for the Help,
in Advance.
