Getting Rid of Clipbook/board

I hate this clipboard nonsense, I just want to be able to use the the Ctrl+C
option without having to deal with some program that I will never use. Can
anyone please tell me how to disable this program?

clipbrd.exe is the Windows NT ClipBook Viewer or Clipboard and it is only
needed if you want to view the contents of the Clipboard. When you cut or
copy information from a program, it is moved to the Clipboard and remains
there until you clear the Clipboard or until you cut or copy another piece
of information.

The ClipBook service Enables ClipBook Viewer to store information and share
it with remote computers.

Disable the ClipBook service.

Open Services...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Double click ClipBook | If running click the Stop button |
Set Startup type to Disabled | Click Apply | Click OK |
Close Services

chuckle.

Do you understand that EVERY SINGLE TIME you cut and paste,
from wherever to wherever (in your word processing) or
creating a new text file on your desktop from a bit of text
you "grabbed" off the Internet...

You are using that invisible Clipboard?

If you delete it, you will be DISABLING a BUNCH of
functionality in your system.

I recommend that you keep track of how many times you hit
Ctrl C and then Ctrl V in a day/ in an HOUR!

Should you "delete the Clipboard/clipbook", that function
will no longer be available.

And with all that RAM, and with all that Hard Drive, why
remove a TINY routine that you use CONSTANTLY?

What clipboard nonsense> What program do you want to disable?

When you do Ctrl-C you copy to the clipboard. When you do Ctrl-V you paste
what's in the clipboard. The clipboard itself is within RAM and isn't
normally visible. There's no program involved (unless you choose to run one)
and there's nothing to disable.

If you are seeing a program pop up every time you press Ctrl-C, you probably
have installed some third-party program such as PrintKey 2000 to provide
extra clipboard facilities.

You cannot. Clipboard is an integral part of Windows. You may be talking
about Notepad.

What program? What are you talking about?

Yikes, so many responses.

Basically, whenever I pressed Ctrl+C this window would pop-up and the only
thing on it would be this vertical line of numbers and the alphabet. I
didn't know what it was. All I wanted was to do a quick copy of something,
and then paste it somewhere without this window always opening up. I guess I
didn't want to totally get rid of clipbook, just this annoying function

However, since writing this, the window thing has gone away. Not sure what
I did, however? Anyways, thanks all for the input!

What you are (or were) seeing is the Corel Clipbook. I'm now in the process of trying to figure out how to disable. It has just "hijacked" my normal windows clipboard and it's annoying.
