getting rid of 'automatic' IE

Whenever I start my computer (a Dell laptop), IE automatically starts, and
(of course) covers up the desktop. How do I get IE to stop automatically
loading when XP starts?

First check your Startup folder, or check with msconfig

It may be because IE is in your startup folder in the start menu

Click start, programs, then Startup

If Internet Explorer is in this folder right click and select delete. IT
WILL ONLY DELETE THE SHORTCUT!! Not the actual program

That should solve your problem
