I have a problem with XP that I didn't get in W98, and I
wonder whether I'm just doing something wrong...
I have icons on my desktop which, when clicked, open up
folder windows. For each folder window, I reset the size
so it doesn't obscure whole parts of the desktop and set
the files within to be shown as icons or lists or whatever
is most apropriate.
I close these folder windows by pressing the 'x' and the
next time I boot up, the settings are the same as I left
them. However, after that the settings all revert to a
default setting, with the files all showing 'details' and
the folder window going huge. In other words, my
individual settings per folder window are remembered for a
while and then ignored.
I have looked at the 'folder options' settings, which seem
fine (they always have the 'remember folder option
settings' option ticked).
I use the classic windows option, by the way, for my
overall desktop look.
Does anyone have any ideas, please?
Thanks...
