"getting file information" cannot connect???

when trying to downlaod some thing the box comes up but it
just says "getting file information" and it never
downloads. Also, when pages are loading, ie freezes for
about 5 seconds live its sucking up all my RAM. the mouse
jumps and everything. then after about 20 seconds after
loading page you can move around. Also any1 know the
microsoft support # i can't find it

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
