Getting error in Backup

Think prob is trying to do backup to CD-R directly. Getting error:Backup Status
Operation: Backup
Active backup destination: File
Media name: "help backup.bkf created 9/14/2004 at 11:33 PM"


Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:80042301
Aborting Backup.

The operation did not successfully complete.

I only have C drive and the D CD-R
I havent tried backup to hard drive then copy tp CD----------------------
