Getting CD read errors in WinXP??

Using WinXP and when using commercial CD's it sometimes can not find certain
files. It will give an error and ask to repeat. When it repeats it finds
it. Is there a sending in WinXP to make this not so sensitive so it will
possibly read Cd's more reliable.
