I've tried several times this morning to create a rule to stop the messages
from a certain sourse, some of whose postings you can see in this newsgroup
now! I use OE, and IE6. No amount of trying seems to stop those messages
arriving, and they infest all the newsgroups. Is there nothing that can be
done short of not using the newsgroups? Incidently, my last post in this
newsgroup on this subject this morning isn't even showing. Perhaps I used one
of the words in the subject that I want to block, and somebody has managed to
delete that post becase of it?

Well, the posts have different fragmented words in the subject, and
random email addresses, so it seems futile to attempt to block any one post.

Someone that can interpret the header information will eventually get
them shut down, I suspect. For now, just press Ctrl/U (OE), "N"
(Mozilla products), or click the Next button to breeze on by those
useless posts.

It always amazes me how just one(?) deranged person can cause so much disruption
across so many newsgroups worldwide, and yet apparently nothing can be done to stop
it.

I tried to block all that spam too...
but the rules do nothing...

so here is the best I came up with:

I hit the shift key then highlighted the top spam message,
then the lowest one

then hit the delete key and all of the spam in that grouping was at least
gone
