Getting Blank and "Black screen" while visiting some sites

Hi Everyone
I have standalone system with win98 loaded and Internet Explorer version 6, after enetering userid and password in login screen of Yahoo mail I was getting " blank " & "Black" screen. Can anyone help me out please

Thank you Frank for your suggestion . I havn't tried out the suggestion since I restored previous version of my Internet Explorer which is working fine now. I again thank you for sparing valueble time for me.
