Black Screen When Resuming

Hi,

I'm having an intermittent problem where upon resuming after a sleep or
hibernate, the computer is displaying a black screen. Fortunately, the field
where I need to type my password is visible with a white background and the
cursor is also visible in it, but everything else is black. After I type in
the password and press Enter, the horizontal middle third of the screen gets
the Windows login background while the rest is still black. The problem
disappears once my wallpaper is displayed.

Any idea what might be causing that? I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
and all available updates have been installed.
