Getting all the emails back?

C

***** charles

Hi all,

I am using Outlook 2003. I have to save all my emails
somehow, wipe my computer and re-import all my
eamils without loosing any of them. What is the best
way to do this? Can I use the archive function? If I
archive, how do I get the emails back into Outlook?

thanks,
charles.....

Search (in hidden files) for your .pst file. Copy that file to an external
device. Afterwards, create a folder under My Documents called Outlook PST.
Copy the file to the Outlook PST folder. Open Outllook and Choose Open in
the File drop down menu. Choose Outlook Data file. Browse to the file in
your Outlook PST folder.

I would bet you don't have to wipe your computer. In seven years of house
calls, I have never yet had to do that.

Why don't you tell us your problems and get them fixed instead.

Is this for a private individual or a company?

Naxian specialise in email archiving and fully understand your dilema.
Often a hiccup in a restore of email is the MS update, so watch out
for this.

Also Auto Archive will not return your settings - ie calendar, tasks
etc it will simply do a rather nice dump.

If this is a corporate dilema then ask what email archiving is being
done and ask when the last file backup was done. recovering from this
file back up, as one can do with ease in Naxian message Tracker,
ensures a quick and full restore of your email environment
