Hi,

On my windows XP computer (which I use at home) I use to have the standard
(non-network) login screen which consisted of some logos and valid users
displayed on the screen. No passwords were required. However, someone was
messing with the network settings and now when I start the machine I get the
cntl-alt-del popup, like you wold get on an office computer which would
login to an office domain. can someone tell me how to get rid of this and
back to the old default screen where I don't have to press any keys and just
click on the logo to login. It's home computer so I don't want anything
else.

Thanks!
Cookie.

Hi,

There are several third party programs that alter this. Without knowning
more......

See if this helps: Control Panel/Users/Change the Way Users Logon/Welcome
Screen or...

Start/Control Panel/Users/Change the Way users log on or off/Use Welcome
Screen and Use Fast User Switching.

Enable the Welcome Screen (Line 80)

The "Welcome" Logon Screen Does Not Appear

If you are receiving Gina.dll error messages:

Restore the Windows XP Welcome Screen (Gina.dll)
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts/fix_xp_logon.vbs

Netware:

Right click My Network Places and select Properties. Right click the
Internet connection in question, or LAN connection, and select Properties.
On the Networking tab, This connection uses...highlight Client Services for
Netware and select Uninstall.

More information and options here:

If none of this applies, post back and good luck!
