Please tell me if a person took a pc to a tech and the tech upgraded the
Windows 98 to XP, what should the tech have given to the customer.

Shouldn't the person receive the cds, the booklet and the COA sticker be
present on the computer? I know about new computers but was wondering about
upgrades on old computers. There would be no COA sticker for XP if it was
upgraded with package purchased from the store.

I gave person this link:

Thanks for information.

If this was a purchase of the OS, it should come with the COA and CD and
documentation.

FYI, you should create a new post with your question. You're post is
unclear on the details but if you think a non genuine version of XP was
installed you should go back to the person who installed it to fix it.

Otherwise see this:

The computer owner should have been given the installation CD, the
Product Key, and the Certificate of Authenticity. Sometimes the Product
Key is printed on the Certificate. There is no booklet, anymore.
