Genius Vivid III Scanner (EPP Model) with HP 610C Printer

I have recently upgraded my Dell Optimax PC from Windows
98 to Windows XP The hardware configuration includes a
Genius Vivid III scanner and an HP 610C Deskjet on the
same LPT1 interface. The configuration appears to be
causing conflict resulting in printer corruption that is
cleared when you disable the scanner software.

Can Windows XP support two devices on LPT1 or is it USB
time?

XP won't support piggy backing LPT devices. It's time to change one of the
