Generating a calendard request from another application

Hi there,

Need to know how to send a meeting request from an application which
is not outlook. What we have is a simple web based application that
needs to insert various things into our teams calendar on occasion. I
want to do this via an emailed invitation but can't seem to work out
how to format the email.... examples would be appreciated.

Depending on what you're using to create your web app, search the 'net for
'create iCal file' and your web development language (PHP, Ruby, etc)

iCal is a standard for files that import into Outlook and other apps for
appointments & such
