Hi
I've had Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta on my machine now well over a year and
today I noticed that the subject was running the CPU at 100%. Does anyone
know what is going on here? I went to Scotty and disabled it; will this make
the AntiSpyware ineffective? Is this a temporary deal or has something gone
wrong?
Thanks for your help.

The Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) is now obsolete and
has been replaced by Windows Defender. You need to
uninstall Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) and install the
new Windows Defender program, which is free.

Windows Defender

Note: The latest Windows Defender spyware definitions are
available for installation from the Microsoft Update web site.
