How to recover my gateway desktop with XP windows home. Recover CD didn't come with the [GATEWAY COMPUTER} at the time of purchase and have 30 days to report to Gateway. So warranty only covers the components of the Gateway desktop. This is what the gateway Suppurt center told me when I call them. What if I send Desktop to "Service Center"to get fix. The Support center said i would have to purchase softwear for them,to repair the desktop that's under warranty at their service center. Warranty Expires: 4/15/2005

Please E-mail me with any solution !!!

Hi

All PC suppliers have an obligation to provide a way to restore a system back to its original state when first purchased. Gateway should be able to tell you how to do this. It maybe that you have a 'hidden' partition on your PC that needs to be accessed for a restore back to the original state - try contacting Gateway again and ask them how to do it.

Sorry, your problem is not with MS, it is with Gateway. Suggest you call
them again and perhaps you will get a better answer. Personally, I couldn't
tell what your problem was.
They [Gateway] are required to supply a way to restore the system to the
original shipped state. If the system was shipped without the files on the
hard drive, or CD media, then you must work this out with Gateway.
They are not required to supply a XP CD.
