How come games today don,t used software mode anymore?

Would fix alot of graphic card troubles.

Alot of people would,nt be ass about the graphics, as long as they can play the game.

As in software rendering, rather than by using a 3D card? It would limit games massively and stop any graphical progress - besides, I don't think any PC would ship without a 3D card nowadays.

Removing sound from games would stop lots of sound card troubles etc..., but that isn't the point ;)
