games do not load

When I try to load a game such as World Of Warcraft or Call Of Duty my screen
will go black for about 10 seconds and then bring me back to my desktop.
Everything else on my computer seems to work fine. I have an older
motherboard (an intel d845pebt2) 1 gig of ram, plenty of space on my hard
drive and I have a radeon x 1300 graphics card. When I run the directx
diagnostic tool and click the test direct3d button, it tell me that I
cancelled the test by pressing a key which I
haven't. Could this be a hardware problem? is there any good programs that
could test my system? Thanks in advance for any help you could give

Do you have the latest display driver for your X1300..?

Also check windows update to see if your DX9c version is current..

Thanks for the reply. I have all the latest drivers and updates from windows.
I'll checkout these programs and let you know if they help
