Games and video problems!

I bought a new pc, with windows xp home edition, but my games wont work on it.
Also, this new pc is twice as good as my previous, but on my previous my
games would play easy!

The problem is that i can't play some games, for example call of duty 2:
It will run most missions, and it does run multiplayer, but the strangest
thing is that by loading some missions it will result in that my pc restarts.
Also, when im playing videos/movies (not real movies, but mini-movies made
by people for media player) i only see plain colours, no detail, for example
the screen is totally blue with the things that move green.

Now i know i can right click on desktop, and go to properties and then sellect
settings and then go to advanced and then to solve problems (don't know if
thats in good english because my windows xp is in "dutch", which "maybe" can
also result in these errors, because i heard that if its in another language
then english gaems may also crash/dont work) and then change the
hardware-speed, but setting it lower will result that i can't play games
anymore, though i can see the movies very well.

Does someone please understands this and knows what to do, because im
getting desperate, and i dont want to bring my new pc back to the shop....
Now, i have an option myself, putting windows 2000 on it, i can always take
it off and plant XP back if this also wont work, but with 2000 i dont have
features such as a dvd-player.....

Oh, about the games, some do want to run normal, others like call of duty2
just quit when you are loading a map, and others dont even want to install!!
And on my old pc (which was windows 2000) i could run them all very good!

TY in advance to everyone!

Supply the relevant technical specifications of the new PC, such as the make
and model of the motherboard and graphics card, the processor, how much RAM
the system has, and the maximum power output in watts (W) of the power supply
unit.

Is the graphics card AGP or PCI Express?

All of those have a a bearing on why games won't play.

If you have a motherboard with an onboard video chip, it has to be a very
good one in order to be able to play demanding games like COD. What you
really need,if that is the case is a dedicated graphics card.

And the MB ram is 512.
The motherboard, dunno what.....

Anyway, this new pc is supposed to be very strong and one of the best of his
sort.
Also i think its the freakin windows xp, the games just dont run, as they do
on windows 2000!
I just dont trust windows xp.....
