game performance

All of a sudden the forward movement in my games is stopping for a few
seconds and then it contnues. i cleaned my hard drive but no help. Why would
this suddenly start happening

Could be the driver is in a corrupted space, could be hard drive
fragmentation, could be hardware.

Best thing to do would be to defrag the drive to make sure its cleaned up,
reinstall or install the latest video card driver, and then clean out the
case itself from any dust. Is the machine sufficiently cooled?
