Game install annoyance!

Tried to install the Bioshock demo tonight and took the typical
settings. All installed or so I thought. Clicked the finish button and
went to find it but it wasn't there! No warnings at all. Installed
again but took the custom option and put it on another drive and all
is fine. Why didn't Vista warn me it couldn't install it in the
Program Files folder? I guess I should have run the install as
Administrator? but I am an Adminsitrator on the PC !!

Any ideas?

cheers,
Len

No you are not Admin. Adimin is de-activated by default. You are a super
user, and you should install any program NOT specifically written for Vista,
as Admin. Right click on the setup.exe or install, and select run as Admin.
I have yet to find a non-vista program fail to install and run properly
using this method. The installed app also inherits the rights upgrade from
the install, so you DON'T have to set the run as admin in the properties for
the installed app. Its slightly in-secure (just like installing any program
in any earlier version of windows). But until apps are specifically written
to follow the Vista rules, this is the way to do it.
