FYI: My findnigs with build 615

W

Willem

Old situation: 614 on XP Pro SP2, running limited account for daily usage. I
had the update problem. After 5729 updates would not stick. After applying
the Rob Walker fix 5735 did stick, so I did not apply Tom Emmelot's "Update
Fix 2".

The 615 program update notification did *NOT* come in with automatic update.
Also as Administrator whith File, check for update it *NOT* find the update.
So I downloaded the full installer file.

After installing my old preferences were still there, but Real-time
Protection suddenly was switched off!! It cetainly was not switched off
before updating.

Hope this doesn't spoil your summer mood.

This machine is running XP Pro SP2 also. I am not having
the problem you report with the current (615) build. So,
what's up?

This machine has 15 separate user accounts (not
considering the various machine accounts like "ASP.Net
Web Admin", etc.) that all are VERY active (my family and
friends all use the machine for every type of internet
use imaginable... at least 16 hours of heavy web use
daily). In addition, the machine has Visual Studio 2005
Express Editions Beta 2 installed. And ASP.NET Web
Matrix. And lots of weird games... and music downloads
constantly, and online purchases - a perfect test bed for
the MS AntiSpyware beta. And it's working!

Hope this brightens someone's day besides mine.

I sure could use the "Rob Walker fix" that you spoke of,
because I'm *still* having the problem.
