Future of Access?

There are some rumors at work that Microsoft is planning to not support
Access in the future anymore. I think the logic is that they are going to
try to move more towards SQL or something. I did a couple of queries on
the net but could not find anything about this. Has anybody heard anything?

OLD, OLD, OLD rumor that has been beaten down OVER and OVER and OVER.

Your net querying could use some work.

Seem to me I heard that at least three versions ago and it is still with
us.

These rumors were going around when I first encountered Access in
1994. They were false then. They're false now.

Access 12 is out in a widely-distributed beta, and is a MAJOR upgrade
(well, "up" being debatable in some circles of course...) and the
Access development team is larger than it's been in years.

Rumours are absolutely wrong. There is new version of Access and of
Jet. The Access 2007 team at Microsoft is larger than it's ever been.

I didn't think the Access 2007 team was large 10 years ago in the first
place <g>

It might be true. But my observation in the locallity where I am working (at
least for several organizations), I can see that DBASE, PARADOX were
replaced by Access.
