Funny USB port behaviour

Hi there,

Win XP Prof

I have two USB-2 PCI-cards.

The one cards has a very funny behaviour.

First of all, only 2 of the 4 ports are USB2 ... and then one of these
ports "switches on and off" all the time. I have a USB2 Verbatim Flash
disk with a led which lits blue when plugged into USB2 and RED when
plugged into USB1.
So about every 2 minutes, I hear the sound to tell you a USB device has
been plugged out/in.

I have un-instaled this card numerous times be removing the drivers,
taking out the card and installing it all over again.

It is not even 1 month old.

I'd suggest the first thing to look at is an inadquate PSU (power supply
unit).

I just replaced the PSU yesterday with a 350W one after the 250W gave in.

Even 350w is bare minimum ..... I run 550w units.

I don't know - this is a 350W.
