Funny bug in IE 6.0 - happens to anyone?

I

Isaac S.

Using IE 6.0 version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 on
Windows XP service pack 1 with ALL fixes and patches.

Reproduce (works %100 of the times):

1) Load a page.
2) Ctrl-F ("Find").
3) Type some word which doesn't exist in the page, press
ENTER.
4) You get the "Finished searching the document" box.
5) Press F1 (while in focus on the "Finished searching
the document" dialog).

Result: Internet Explorer crashes ("Send error report to
microsoft" dialog). All Internet Explorer windows are
closing.

Happens to anyone?

I reproduced it on two machines, completely different
hardware.

I tried to send a bug report to Microsoft, but I couldn't
find how to. Yes, I looked REALLY HARD for a "bug report"
link.

Nope. I can't reproduce it. Tried it on a valid address and on about:blank.

Are you running any 3rd party toolbars or Browser Helpers?

Following your instructions, mine crashed as well. However, I don't
see why I would ever press F1 in those circumstances.

Check for spywares that are tracking your search words.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

Hi Isaac - FYI for future reference - In IE6 Help|Send Feedback will take
you to a page with a link to report a bug.
