Full Screen

Is it possible to set up IE so that it opens up in 'full screen' when first
launching IE and when following links.

Also I notice that sometimes the favourites drop down menu doesn't always
automatically close when I click on the 'full screen' icon.

I'd be grateful for any assistance

Hi Diana :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

In the last window to be closed only, pass the cursor over the right side of
the screen until you get a two ended arrow <---> (Do not use Maximize), then
hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the screen to the right
as far as you want it. Then do the same on all the other sides until it
fills the screen.

Use the "launch IE Browser" shortcut, you can R-click>properties>run
Maximized>apply>OK out. That works as well.

or............

Open a new window maximised (right click "open in new window" or windows
from hyperlinks)

or..............

"Close all windows EXCEPT the one that opens "minimized"; right click on
your Task Bar, either on the open space on the right or left end (your
choice); select "Tile Windows Horizontally" and IE will maximize; close IE.
Re-open IE and it will be maximized. Just showed a buddy this trick
yesterday and works like a charm. Enjoy."

It does work like a charm, but it isn't quite a normal "maximize" just a
full screen with a border. However, it does subsequently hold that.

use, BTW)

Jan,

After reading your advice, I think I may have given you the wrong impression
with regards what I am trying to do. I am not as such trying to maximise the
screen but to use the 'full screen' icon which you can add to the IE toolbar.
When you click on it the address and toolbar disappears to give you a bigger
screen to view a web page. I notice that sometimes when I launch IE it opens
in 'full screen' and sometimes it doesn't. Also when you follow a link and
open up a new window you have to click the icon again to get the full screen
again. Is there anyway around this?

Regards
Diana.

The F11 key works to toggle Full Screen on and off.
