Full restore adminstrator password?

Hi, I'm trying to do a full restore on a laptop with Windows XP. Booting from
the restore cd its asking me which version of windows I want to choose.
There's only one so I type the number one and hit enter. Then it asks me for
the adminstrator password. If this is the same password as the windows xp
logon password then its not working because I can't get further. Is there
some kind of secret password I don't know about? Can someone help me? I need
to get that lap back on someone's lap.

The administrator password is blank by default--just press enter.

PS--that is not system recovery, that is the recovery console.

Thanks Larry, I'm trying to do a full restore I assume I'm on the way to
doing that by being on that screen. My place has been made by booting from
the recovery cd. I'll go now and just press enter....wish I had tried that
one.

default password for administrator is blank. did you try that?

Yes, thanks Filo. That did it . MS is so vague sometimes it drives me nuts.
We have so many passwords. Right away I went off on a trial and error and
never thought about just hitting enter. Its really frustrating. MS should
make it plain....
a full restore ( and those words spelled out on the gd screen)
or a partial restore, but none of this vague b.s.
