I have saved my files and settings from the backup wizard to my second hard
drive and want to do a full install of XPPro without losing this file. I have
tried to uninstall the hard drive and reboot and get nowhere even though the
uninstall went properly. I have tried to boot from my new XPPro disk, too.
Get error message saying there is no disk. Just so you know, with the
exception of the backup file, my second hardrive is empty. Any suggestions?

which hard drive are you going to do full install?

what did you uninstall?

what is our goal?

If you install Windows on new hard drive, you may erase or overwrite the
backup file.

Which is why one still needs a 1.44 disk drive when your cdrom drive
refuses to recognize a bootable cdrom disk.

Please clarify.

"Uninstall"? meaning: Physically remove? Roll back to previous OS? Format?

reboot an empty HD? You mean the INstall went properly?

Details: 1)how many HD's will be in new config?
2)are you trying to put the new XPPro onto the disk currently
holding the transferred files?
3)do you know how to use BIOS?
