Full boot

James

I installed some new software recently and now the computer stops at bootup
until I click on "owner" to proceed. How do I change this to return to the
full bootup to the desktop icons without this interim stop?

Thanks for any help.

What he means is to get the computer to automatically log
on to the main user account, instead of just stopping at
the XP log on screen. I think that you have to go into
your system settings and change it so that it
automatically opens the main admin account (Owner).

Best regards,

Hi James,

One of the things you installed was probably the .net framework from the
update site. It creates a new user account and causes this issue. Start/run
"control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

You were right--it was a net account which I have since deleted and the
problem has disappeared. Thanks for your help.
