Well - I can see that you are still online, so getting knocked offline
probably isn't what set you off. Care to share what happened?

That's weird because mine came with support....

Maybe you tried to load it on Windows 98 without the USB drivers.

Sure bill, as you can tell I am a bit frazzled. I cannot
load java at all. I get errors on any java applets. I
know there are some setting in the ms spyware that you
can disable, and it still dont work, ive tried
everything! So not only that, but now I have popups and I
never had them b4. I think it's a racket if you ask me. I
will be willing to bet that msft spyware will delete and
do whatever in your IE that they either dont agree with
or dont like. it's going to be anothe manopoly. I
downloaded Netscape and they really support java. How
come msft dont. oh well.

Not being able to load java or macromedia apps is a security issue. It may
be that MSAS has adjusted your IE security settings to disallow java and
activeX downloads.

Go to TOOLS | Internet Options | Security Tab and try adjusting some of your
settings in the Internet Zone.

Let me know if this is over your head and we will see what we can do. I
remember XP SP2 changing these settings and blocking the same apps you are
complaining about now. Mine stopped loading but now they do. MSAS has not
changed this either.

Let me know...

John

Could be a Realtime Protection agent too, although it didn't stop any of my
java apps or macromedia apps.

Hmmmmm.... Let's see what we can figure out. Try security first. Unless
someone else chimes in here with the answer, although the title of your
message will cause most people to avoid this conversation.

Thanks. I am @ work at the moment. When you say security
which part? I did try moving the slider to a lower level.
I know, bad title for this, but whatcha gonna do. If I go
into custom I noticed there was some other goodies in
there?

Ok, I know theres a slider in the security tab and that
didnt do it, nonetheless, in the custom side of it I see
a whole bunch of goodies! In fact, last time I was in
those goodies I got things ma-gummed up, since then I've
been real timid going in there again. I have winXP also.

Click on the Default settings button just to level things off to a setting
considered to be normal.

Go to the site that has an app that won't load. What errors do you get when
you try to load the page?
What do you see on the webpage where the app should be?

Hold your control key down and try again. Do you get any errors or popups?
What does the webpage do?

Are you running any other antispyware apps like Spybot SD with TeaTimer or
Spywareguard?

John, no others running, I did see a tab for java in the
custom section. I see a red x in the corner. I did try
java help and did what they said. and still nothing. When
I get home I will try what youve mentioned. I never heard
of holding down the contrl key? I do have hitman pro, but
it doesn't run all the time. only when you run it! i know
it didnt do anything cuz i have had it for some time!

Well, there have been a few issues between Microsoft and the originator of
Java.

Those have been settled not too long ago in a big public handshaking sort of
way, but I can't say I've seen any fruit of that new found friendship.

I know next to nothing about Java, I'm afraid. It looks to me like John is
doing you some good, and I hope the two of you can solve this one. Sorry I
can't help more.

Let me know if you get anywhere with permissions changes - we can compare if
you are not getting anywhere - be sure to go to Macromedia.com to test if
Flash is working in general and then to your particular site with the Flash
plugins you like to use to testthem as well.

Another idiot. Gotta love the MS bashers. Doesn't matter
how good or what it is, if MS releases it they will trash
it. F*cking morons.
