Apparently, i cannot ask a FTP acces to website. Looking
at the site with the error Unspecified error when
dwnloading update, I tried to resolve the problem execpt
one , delete index.dat file from my administrator. I
created a new one administrator to delete the file but
apparantly I have not the possibility to do that. Do you
know how I can change the security to give access rights
to a new administrator to check and be able to delete the
corrupted index.dat from the first one. (Attention XP home)

Hi, Francis -

You can't delete index.dat from a profile if you're
currently logged onto that profile ;-)

Create another user account that has administrator
rights, log onto that profile and delete the bad
index.dat from your old profile. Windows XP will
recreate the file next time you log on.

Hope this helps -

Hi Allan,

Thanks for your answer. Exactly, right. But It's very
strange when I create a new administrator user, it would
seem that the new one has not authority to dble click and
access to the corrupted administrator.
When I click to documents and settings, I can see all my
users, But when I click to the adminstrator user, I
received the message -- Access denied . It seems that this
user is locked with a high security. Do you know an other
way ? -- via registry or something magic?????

Thanks

Francis

Hi, Francis -

When logged on as someone with administrator privileges
(not the administrator account), right-click \Documents
and Settings\Administratore and take ownership of it by
selecting Properties --> Security --> Advanced --> Owner.

Hope this helps ;-)
